WW1 German Shell Case Trench Art Dusseldorf 1917

A hand fashioned vase or trophy made from a German shell. This piece of trench art could be used as a vase or it is a powerful piece just displayed on its own. This German WW1 Brass Shell Case that was used during 1917. The cartridge case is for the standard German field canon of that time, the 7,7 cm Feldkanone 96 n/A. The case was made in May 1917 Polte in Magdeburg. The marking "St" (=Stark=strong) on the base means that the case was strengthened, the first cases for this canon (until ± 1905) had thinner walls. Own a piece of history.
